Application

Treatex Iroko Oil works best on unfinished timbers

Previous finishes that stop the oil penetrating into the wood(e.g. paints) should be fully removed

Porous finshes can be lightly sanded with 120g sandpaper, however, we cannot guarantee best performance when applying over an existing finish and would always recommend a trial application first

Ensure timber is dry and free from contaminates (exotic / dense timbers should be left to weather for at least 3 months before appplication)

Stir tins thoroughly before and during application, apply with a brush or roller working in the grain direction, pay particular attention to end grain

After approx. 12 hours a second coat can be applied, a third coat can be applied if required after a further 12 hours
